Retained search

Executive search mandates, which require a more global or specialized search, will be undertaken on a retained basis. 

While other agencies charge an astounding percentage of the fee (usually 66%) before you have even met a candidate, Fulton Garrick will only charge a modest retainer fee up front as a commitment to the process and will only invoice the rest of the fee on the successful candidates start date. 


Sometimes, a retained search is not necessary due to the seniority of the position or that it isn’t specialized enough to justify one. Our clients still trust Fulton Garrick to undertake any contingent work with the same professionalism and efficiency in getting the job done as if it were. 

While some competitors will push for a retained fee, our up front and honest approach will help assist your business in finding the best talent. We consistently look at the bigger picture when it comes to clients and always strive to do what is best for you. When a retainer isn’t necessary, we will tell you exactly that.
